An older man named Ostrik returns to his childhood home in Curaçao, where he is drawn into memories of the summer of 1973 and a fateful dominoes game that would define his youth. The game gathers a vibrant cast of characters from the island's melting pot, each navigating the tensions between pride and humiliation, money and love, ambition and hope. The high-stakes game ends in a catastrophic reversal of fortunes, overturning the social order and forcing the players to confront their deepest desires and regrets. In the aftermath, they learn that in this game, as in life, no opponent is more formidable than destiny itself.
